“If I can’t find words to say I will bury this pen in the ground and wait for the rain to come and the seas to break”– “Pull Another Muscle” Transcontinental
To be honest and fair, the first time I heard Transcontinental was at a performance in April of 2012 at Badger Brew Express in Rice Lake. I had told lead singer, Titus Garcia, that the performance had reminded me of “CAGE THE ELEPHANT” I consider my self corrected. Read on my friend.
If you know Conor Oberst or the name BRIGHT EYES your ears could fall in love, if you don’t your ears could very possibly still fall in love.
Musically, Transcontinental offers the badass attitude that all rockers hope to attain. Backed by steady drums, and f&%#%in’ interesting sounds that combine to offer the listener a calm sense of rebellion just from listening.
Truly this music makes me smile. On Transcontinental’s Facebook page they are described as “fundamentally Folk Rock and Roll, heavily inspired early to mid 1990′s Grunge.” I find this fitting.
So, overall what is my impression of TRANSCONTINENTAL?
I would recommend Transcontinental to fans of Bright Eyes, 90s Grunge, and ”Rebel Rockers” in the U.S. and across the pond.
But I’ll let you judge for yourself. Here’s the link again.
